In today’s world of Google and Facebook, remarketing ads and online TV – you might be wondering if there is room for “old fashioned” marketing tactics like promotional products?

THERE IS!

In a study of 3,000 consumers, aged 19-72 in the US and Canada, the value of promotional items was made clear. Here are some of the highlights of the PPAI Research Consumer Study

  • 8 in 10 people like receiving promotional products
  • 7 in 10 people wish they received promotional products more often
  • 79% of people pass along promotional products (regifted, sold or donated) that are no longer valuable – creating a new phenomenon: secondhand promotional items
  • 72% of recipients believe that the quality of the promo items = reputation of the company
  • 10 out of 10 people are willing to go out of their way to get a promotional product
  • Promotional products are still effective: 85% of people remember the advertiser on a promotional product.
  • When it comes to promotional items in general, 52% of consumers keep them based on quality, 42% on utility, and 36% on overall attractiveness
  • Top five favorite product categories include:
    • Wearables
    • Health and beauty
    • Technology
    • Food and beverage
    • Travel products
